Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and the LFGG team for your use of LFGG. By creating an account or using LFGG, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use LFGG.

1. Who can use LFGG

You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission. You can't use LFGG if we've previously suspended your account, or if the law prohibits you from doing so.

2. Your account

Keep your login details secure. You're responsible for activity on your account. Choose a username that doesn't impersonate anyone or infringe anyone's rights. Tell us at lfggsupport@gmail.com if you think your account has been compromised.

3. Your content

You own the ratings, reviews, lists, comments and other content you post. To run LFGG, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce and distribute that content on LFGG and its features. That includes your public profile, share cards and link previews, feeds, and computing taste matches and recommendations. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies kept briefly in backups (see the Privacy Policy). Most of what you post is public, so post only what you're comfortable sharing.

You promise you have the right to post your content and that it doesn't break these terms or the law.

4. Community rules

Don't:

• harass, threaten, bully or dox anyone, or post hate speech;
• post sexual content involving minors (we report it to the authorities), or sexually explicit content;
• encourage self-harm or violence;
• spam, manipulate ratings, or create accounts to inflate or game taste matches;
• impersonate people or organizations;
• post spoilers without using the spoiler option;
• post content that infringes others' rights, or is illegal;
• scrape LFGG, overload it, probe or break its security, or get around blocks, rate limits or suspensions.

5. Moderation

You can report content and profiles. We may review, hide or remove content, mark spoilers, and suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk, with or without notice. We aren't obliged to monitor content and don't endorse what users post. Opinions in reviews belong to their authors.

6. Games, trademarks and third parties

Game information and images come from IGDB and remain the property of their respective owners. Game names and artwork are trademarks of their owners. LFGG is not affiliated with or endorsed by any game publisher, Valve/Steam, or Twitch. Optional features such as Steam import rely on third-party services that have their own terms.

Prices shown on LFGG come from store listings, are checked periodically, and may be out of date: the store's price at checkout is the one that applies. Some links to stores are affiliate links, which means LFGG may earn a small commission if you buy something after following them, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links never affect our ratings, recommendations or matches.

7. Membership

Membership is optional and adds extras; everything core in LFGG stays free. Monthly and yearly memberships renew automatically until you cancel, and the extras stay until the end of the period you've paid for. The Founding Patron pass is a one-time payment for a limited number of members. It gives Patron-level membership for as long as LFGG operates, not for any fixed number of years, and it can't be transferred. If LFGG shuts down, it ends then. We may change the extras over time, but we won't take away a paid membership's core perks during a period you've paid for.

Some extras build on other services, such as Steam's extras (automatic syncing, achievement progress and playtime history), which use Valve's Steam Web API. Those services can change or withdraw access at any time, outside our control. If one does, we'll keep what we can and tell members what changed, but we can't promise a feature that depends on someone else's service. Importing your Steam library stays free for everyone.

8. The service

LFGG is in active development. We may change, add or remove features, and may suspend or end the service. We'll try to give reasonable notice of major changes. Before the service ends, you can export your data from Settings → Account.

9. Disclaimers

LFGG is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Taste matches and recommendations are estimates for fun and discovery, not guarantees.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, the LFGG team won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of LFGG. Our total liability for any claim relating to LFGG is limited to US$50 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using LFGG and delete your account at any time in Settings → Account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Sections 3 (as it applies to backups), 6, 8, 9 and 11 continue to apply after that.

12. Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, except where the law of the place you live gives you rights that can't be waived. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date and notify signed-in users before they take effect. Continuing to use LFGG after that means you accept the updated terms.
